Crowns & Bridges

Crowns & Bridges (Prosthodontics)
A crown or a cap is a cover placed over your damaged or weakened tooth to bring back its natural look and prevent further deterioration. It is used when your tooth is broken, chipped, cracked, discolored, misshapen, or heavily filled or if fillings have been lost. It helps to cover the unprotected area of a tooth with a root canal treatment for replacing old fillings or for cosmetic reasons. In simple words, crowns are a restorative and cosmetic method since they replace a tooth without removing the natural one.
Different types of crowns are available depending on the need of the individual that will wear it. Our dentist will suggest the best option based on the location of the crown. They may recommend a metal, ceramic, or Zirconium crowns. Our dental surgeon will use his expertise and modern technology to try and match the new crown with the shape of your present teeth and their color.
Crowns are used for patients who suffer from the following dental concerns:
Broken or cracked teeth.
Missing one or more teeth.
Damaged fillings.
Protect teeth from further damage.
Cover dental implant.
Restore your tooth after root canal treatment.
Match with your natural teeth.
A Dental bridge is an artificial tooth used to restore the gap created by one or more missing teeth. They are connected by crowning the teeth on either side of the gap and attaching a false tooth in the middle. The three types of bridges are – traditional, cantilever and Maryland-bonded. They are the choice for people who are missing one or two teeth and do not want a denture. Bridges help to get back the lost smile with natural-looking restorative teeth on both sides of the gap.
